LUISITA FARMERS DECRY LATEST FORMS OF HARASSMENT

In this video, Lito Bais, chairman of Unyon ng Manggagawa sa Agrikultura (Uma) and one of the 22 farm workers charged with grave coercion, slams the collusion of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation with the Cojuangco-Aquino clan in reversing the initial victory achieved by farm workers in the 50-year-old Hacienda Luisita land dispute.

Meanwhile, Rodel Mesa, spokesman of Alyansa ng Manggagawang Bukid sa Asyenda Luisita (Ambala), recalls the bloody record of the Armed Forces of the Philippines amid the intensifying military operations inside the hacienda.

It was really a memorable experience for us when we went there. We wanted to share their life that despite the difficulties, they still manage to smile. People there are very warm and kind :) We don’t have enough pictures though, but I hope when you watch the clip you’ll also see how nice these people are.
